Painted in February 2024 on an en plein air painting trip to Venice. This piece was painted while standing under the Bridge of Sighs, watching the gondoliers row past .

This piece is framed in a hand finished black frame with a gilt edge and gilt corner motif. Using traditional gesso, gilding, and ageing techniques, I have hand-finished the frames in the style of the 17th century Italian cassetta.

The frames made for this collection are especially designed as an extension of the painting - and a nod towards Italian history and culture.
